Terms of Service

1. Service description

The LMS supports the GLHLTH 702O research methods course at Duke University. It hosts course materials, manages enrollment and communications, and links to the Pairthink activity platform.

2. Eligibility

Use of this service is limited to students invited to enroll in the course, the course instructor, and approved teaching assistants. Accounts are created by invitation only.

3. Account responsibility

Authentication is via single-use email links. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure. Do not share sign-in links with others.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or to system internals
• Submit content that violates Duke's academic integrity policies
• Use the service for any commercial purpose unrelated to the course
• Disrupt or interfere with the operation of the service

5. Intellectual property

Course materials are the intellectual property of the course instructor and Duke University. Content you submit (assignments, discussion posts) remains yours; by submitting, you grant the course team a license to use your content for course operations and, subject to the separate research consent you provide at registration, for research purposes.

6. Disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” for academic purposes. We make no warranties about uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for any purpose beyond the course.

7. Termination

Your access ends when the course concludes, when you withdraw from the course, or earlier if these Terms are violated.

8. Privacy

Use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to enrolled participants. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
